Darrin Smith - Journey Missionary Baptist
This past week we made contact with many who participated in our community survey. There were a total of 107 surveys done and 68 of those we talked with are not active in any church. Many have just recently moved to this area just like my family and are looking for new friends. These people are very open with what they are looking for in a church. Basically it all boils down to this; they are tired of people just doing church and are ready for people to start being the church. We want to reach our community for Jesus. We are discovering the needs are many here in Barling.

I was talking with a lady by the name of Cindy who is really struggling in her life. She made this statement, "I ready to have life. I am tired of where I am at right now." I shared with her John 10:10 and explained this is exactly why Jesus came so that we can have life and have it more abundantly. I shared how she could have this life and she trusted Jesus as her Savior. It is amazing how God opens doors. Francis, Cindy's friend, was there with us as we talked. She was listening and I turned and asked her did she have this life in Jesus. She wasn't sure and wasn't ready to make a decision. She wants me to come back and talk with her. Francis is 71 years old. Stop for a moment and pray for her that this week she will trust Jesus.

The BMA of the Ozarks were well represented in the outreach we had on Thursday, May 3rd. Ron Fields, Gene Fulcher, Wes Hulvey, Dennis Taylor, Ronnie Kissenger, Melving Yount, Brady Smith, and Darrin Smith (thatís me) were part of a group who drove from all corners of the state to help spread the word about our mission and Jesus Christ.

These men from the BMA of the Ozarks lead 7 to the Lord on this outreach and 4 more during that week. They went door to door conducting the community wide survey by asking the questions, sharing Jesus, and God honored it. In addition to the survey, I donít know how many doors we went to and left a soul winning tract and information about our church but I know it was hundreds. These guys are amazing. They have a heart and passion to reach lost souls with the Gospel message and then disciple them to become a mature follower of Jesus Christ. What they done on this day a missionary or pastor could not do it in 3 mths. I wonder what other church may need us to come together and help out?

Thanks for allowing me to be a Great Commission Partner with this Association. I am excited about what the Lord is doing in our churches. The Missions Rally Tuesday Night was great. I want to let you know the Lord has opened the doors for us to work in Barling, AR in planting churches. I want to say thanks to Bro. Gary Brewer, Bro. Russell Jones, Bro. Dennis Taylor, and Bro. Marvin Lyod for spending the day with me on the field yesterday. Keep us in your prayers.
